So the time has come to start my blog for the second half of my 'Year Abroad'.
For those of you who don't know, I am spending one year away from the UK to put into practice what I have learnt in my language studies at university, that being French and Japanese. After this year abroad I will return to Cardiff to finish the last year of my BA. I have been living in Toulouse, France from September 2008 where I have been undertaking a marketing internship with the American defence communications firm, Rockwell Collins. I will finish the internship this Thursday, after which I will 'migrate' down to Perpignan to stay with Benji until I fly off to Japan on Monday 23rd March.
I intend to spend around 5 months living in Tokyo and during this time I will be attending Dokkyo University where I will be following an intensive Japanese language course. Luckily enough I will be with two good friends; Jess and Jess and I hope we will be able to discover this new country together!
This is just a very brief introduction to what I will be doing whilst I am in Japan. However, over the next few weeks you will see my thoughts, fears etc on the build up to my 6 months in Tokyo.
